When an elected official sets out on a mission to challenge the status quo or save you money we need to take notice.
Cherokee county judge Craig Fletcher has been in office only one month and has already made changes to the, "old way" of doing things. His creativity in finding new ways to get his job done has already resulted in potential savings of about 35 thousand dollars to Cherokee county taxpayers. I particularly admire how quickly he made his recommendation after taking office. That tells me he did his homework before being elected. More importantly it sets the tone that government can change and can change quickly with a solid plan and the right leadership.
Challenging the system in any bureaucracy is difficult enough. But to do it, and get results this fast takes courage and leadership, exactly what we need to make this a better East Texas.
