East Texas' Most Eligible Bachelor

He's tall, dark, and handsome. A real-life cowboy. You know him as Lanny on ABC's "The Bachelorette".  But before he hit the small screen, he was just a regular guy, from East Texas, and I recently sat down with him to talk about the show.

Michelle: "So why did you want to go on 'The Bachelorette'?"

Lanny: "I had never even thought about doing anything like this, and they approached me to do the show, and initially I was like I don't know if I want to do that, but it just seemed like such a great experience to go."

There was one catch though, when he agreed to do it, he had no idea who the bachelorette would be.

Lanny: When I found out it was Meredith, I was hesitant at first, because I had watched the show, and the one thing I remembered is that she didn't care for horses."

But from the looks of the show, they got a long pretty well.

Michelle: "Is she your ideal woman?"

Lanny: "As far as the ideal woman, I don't know, she's definitely a great girl."

Michelle: "So are you going to be the final guy?"

Lanny: "I don't know, you'll just have to wait and see what happens."

He wouldn't dish there, but he did give me the scoop on some things.

Lanny: "The rose ceremonies were probably the most nerve wracking thing we did. You want a rose, but you are also getting tired, and you probably stood in that spot during the rose ceremony for about four hours."

Despite that, and the extravagant dates, he says the rest of the show is very real.

Lanny: "You brought your own clothes. They don't do your hair. They don't do your make-up. It is a pretty real situation."

Except for the cameras that follow you everywhere.

Lanny: "Being on TV and going through that process is probably the strangest thing I have ever done. There's a lot of stuff that, if there's no TV cameras around in that situation, it's still a little nervous."

Michelle: "Do you think you can really fall in love on TV?

Lanny: "I definitely think you can get to know someone well enough to know that this could turn into a serious relationship, and maybe you do end up married down the road."

So what does the end of the road look like for Lanny?

We'll have to keep watching to find out.

Lanny did get a rose tonight, but said if he didn't find love on this season of "The Bachelorette" he would consider being the next bachelor if ABC asked him. But he said he doesn't want to just be a reality TV star. He is currently working on his masters at Texas A & M.
