UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Hospital officials have now released the conditions of several of the passengers involved in a collision with an 18 wheeler.
Officials say Analisse Macias, the babysitter driving three small children, is currently in fair condition and recovering in the Intensive Care Unit.
DPS Trooper Walt Smith, only one of the three children in the accident was seriously injured. Smith says an eleven month old boy was flown to Dallas hospital Tuesday afternoon where he was treated for a fractured femur.
Smith said the two other passengers, three year old twin girls, are in good condition and were released from a Longview hospital earlier Wednesday morning. The truck driver has also been released from a Tyler hospital after suffering minor bruises.
Authorities say the crash happened Tuesday morning when the car driven by Analisse Macias came into contact with a tractor trailer. The unexpected contact caused her to lose control and caught the car on fire. Passing drivers who witnessed the accident were responsible for getting the children out of the burning car into safety.
