POLK COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Two St. Louis men died in a two-vehicle wreck Thursday night in Polk County. The men were involved in a police chase, according to PolkCountyToday.com.

According to the Department of Public Safety report, DeAndre Bradley, 22, was driving a 2010 Mazda van with Lamont Williams, 22, as a passenger. They were driving northbound on U.S. 59, five miles north of Corrigan when they crossed into southbound traffic and hit a 1996 Freightliner towing a trailer, driven by Juan Cruz, 27, of Houston, at 8:13 p.m.

Bradley and Williams were pronounced dead at the scene. Cruz is listed in stable condition at a Livingston hospital with a pelvic injury.

According to PolkCountyToday.com, Corrigan Police conducted a traffic stop with Bradley and Williams. They were about to search the vehicle when Bradley drove away. Police pursued the van for about five miles before Bradley crossed the grassy median and hit the rig.

A photo from the Web site shows law enforcement pulled four large bags of marijuana from the car.
