SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A woman's body was found about 50 feet off Smith County Road 2191, Sunday afternoon. A passing driver discovered the body and called 9-1-1. Investigators arrived on-scene shortly after 3 p.m. to begin processing the possible homicide.

Lt. Tony Dana described the woman as a heavy set black woman. She was dressed in a black and green floral shirt, black Capri pants, and was wearing white shoes and socks. Dana said, at this time, investigators aren't sure of the woman's identity and estimate her to be anywhere from 18 to 34 years old.

Dana said foul play may have lead to the woman's death. He said an official autopsy will be ordered.

If you know an individual matching the victim's description please call the Smith County Sheriff's office at 903-566-6600.
