TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Released by Karolyn Davis with the East Texas Food Bank:

TYLER, TX – Macy's teamed up with the East Texas Food Bank to "Bag Hunger" in East Texas by donating food, funds and time. In March, Macy's kicked off the "Bag Hunger" campaign which raised $3,870 for the East Texas Food Bank.

"Macy's is very passionate about giving back to our community and our nationwide Partner in Time Program. This year, Macy's gave $3,870 to the East Texas Food Bank, plus employees gave 58 hours of volunteer time, as well as 75 pounds of food," said Norma Reyes, store manager at Macy's. "Also a huge thanks to Pamela Moore, captain, who raised $2,800 for the event and motivated the entire store to contribute to their favorite local charity. The Tyler store ranked number one against the department stores nationwide and exceeding our goal by 309 percent."

Macy's has a long history of supporting hunger relief in the United States and has donated millions of pounds of food through its employee "Bag Hunger" campaign since 1998. Macy's is thrilled to continue its national fight to help end hunger in this country by supporting Feeding America and its network of local food banks.

"The East Texas Food Bank is proud to have such a wonderful partner like Macy's as we work to end hungry in our community," said Dennis Cullinane, executive director of the East Texas Food Bank. "Macy's employees have the true giving spirit by giving time, food and funds."
