LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - LeTourneau University is calling for a retraction from Time magazine. A case of miss-placed credit stems from an article in the magazine.

In its list of "Best Inventions of 2009," Stanford University is given credit for a design that LeTourneau researchers have been using for years.

KLTV 7 even showed you the leg being used by LeTourneau overseas.

"We've communicated with Time magazine and I think they've acknowledged the fact that, yes, they should have done a better job researching," said Dr. Robert Hudson, the Executive VP of Academic Affairs. "But, having said that and not doing something about it sort if concerns us."

"I would hope that East Texas would feel proud of a local university that has done something that now has a national audience that we developed this five years ago," said Roger Gonzalez, the leg's founder.

LeTourneau says they have been in contact with Stanford but the university claims their graduate research students had no idea of LeTourneau's model, the leg's M1 knee.
