BULLARD, TX (KLTV) - For years, Jacksonville string luthier Scott Becker of the Becker Violin Shop has been battling an illness that has baffled doctors and, to this day, remains a mystery. And, as if an undiagnosed illness is not enough, Becker and his family do not have insurance to help him in his battle.

But, The Brook Hill School in Bullard and the East Texas string community are striving to help Becker by holding a benefit event for him to help with his medical needs and to show their "love and appreciation" to the Beckers.

"For the past nine years, the Becker Violin Shop has been a primary source for string instruments at Brook Hill," said the Brook Hill School's Orchestra Director, Jamie Reason. "It is wonderful to have our string community come together to benefit one who serves us and is now in great need. This is a tremendous music education and ministry opportunity for our students and school community to be involved in!"

The Brook Hill School will be the host site for the service event which will take place Monday, November 16, 2009, at The Brook Hill Lower School Gym, located at 1010 North Rather in Bullard. The event, dubbed "String Revolution," will feature the state and national award winning high school string troupe, Revolution, from Abilene, TX, under the direction of Darcy Radcliffe and David Keown. East Texas string students from private, public and home schools will be participating in string clinics with Revolution, concluding with the evening concert at 7pm.

All clinic fees and ticket proceeds will go towards the Scott Becker benefit fund. Tickets are $10 at the door. If you wish to participate in the string clinic, you will pay $25. It's only $30 to go to the clinic and concert.

If you would like to give an additional gift towards the Scott Becker benefit fund, checks can be made payable to: Brook Hill School-SOFA, memo-String Revolution benefit, and mailed to:
