SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The San Antonio Spurs continue what is shaping up to be a busy offseason with three second-round picks in Thursday's draft.
San Antonio has the 37th, 51st and 53rd picks. The Spurs already added swingman Richard Jefferson from Milwaukee in a four-player trade this week.
The Bucks parted with Jefferson in a payroll-slashing move. Spurs general manager R.C. Buford said this week the same financial environment could produce similar opportunities in the draft, a hint that the Spurs may be looking to move up.
The Spurs need size after losing big men Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto in the Jefferson deal. San Antonio is expected to try to fill that void in free agency this summer.
