Award winning journalist Jennifer Hines joined the KLTV/KTRE news family in May 2009.
Jennifer can be seen every morning on East Texas News MidDay. Then, stay tuned as she anchors East Texas News at 4:00 and East Texas News at 5:00.

Jennifer has been recognized by the Texas AP Broadcaster's Association for her spot news, features and health stories. In 2007, Jennifer's story on Central Catholic Elementary's chess team in Corpus Christi won an award for Best Feature. While working in Austin, she was part of a team selected by the USC Annenberg School of Communication as winners of a Regional Edward R. Murrow award for Best Continuing Coverage and a Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism.
The University of Texas in Austin is Jennifer's alma mater, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Business. The College of Communication's Journalism program is one of the most highly respected journalism programs in the country.
Jennifer is a lifelong Texan anchoring and reporting in the cities of Abilene, Austin, Corpus Christi and San Antonio, where she covered everything from the first "Amber Alert" baby kidnapping to high profile criminal court cases and severe weather events.
Giving back to the community has always been a large component of Jennifer's life. KLTV's commitment to being community leader made it a perfect fit for Jennifer to settle in and continue her dedicated efforts with numerous organizations and non-profits in East Texas. She serves on the board of the Meals on Wheels Ministry. She also volunteers for the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Junior League of Tyler, Tyler Film Festival and Leadership Tyler.
Jennifer also enjoys emceeing many local events benefiting area non-profit organizations. Her favorite misreading and speaking with children in area schools.
isn't volunteering in the community, she and her husband, Spencer,lo vetoo spend time with their two daughters exploring all East Texas has to offer. They attend Marvin Methodist United Church.
