Good Sunday morning! Today will be Day 2 of warm and sunny conditions. The day begins in the low to mid 50s, but afternoon highs will soar into the mid 80s for most of East Texas. A southerly breeze, coming in at 10-15 mph, will bring in warm temps.
A cold front will slide through the area this evening, and a dryline in front of the cold front will help to trigger showers and storms. The main area of concern is the northern portion of East Texas. The Storm Prediction Center has the top half of ETX under marginal and slight risks. Damaging winds, hail, and low tornado risks are a few things we will be watching out for.
There is a small chance for rain, at 20%, for the beginning of the next work week, and as we draw near to the middle of the week, rain chances increase. Highs will be near 80 degrees at the start of the week, and drop back into the 70s to end. Rain fades away at the close of the work week on Friday with mostly sunny skies.
