Temperatures will heat up in a big way this weekend. Highs will be in the upper 90s this afternoon. A few showers could spark off during peak heating hours, but coverage will be slim. Expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the area today. Sunday brings much of the same. The weekend wraps up with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid to upper 90s.
A cold front will be sweeping through East Texas early next week. The front will start to march through Tuesday, bringing in cooler and drier air into the region. The front will still be working its way through Deep East Texas Wednesday. Rain chances will rise on Monday and rain coverage will stay decent for Tuesday morning, then skies will clear by Tuesday afternoon as drier conditions take over.
The second half of the work week will be cooler and drier. Highs will be in the low 90s. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies to wrap up your work week.
