***Winter Storm Watch for Delta Hopkins and Hunt Counties from Thursday Night through Friday***
Good Wednesday Morning East Texas. Warm and breezy today. After a few areas of patchy morning fog we will see partly cloudy skies this afternoon. There will be a slight chance of a shower or two but most areas will remain dry. Highs will reach the upper 70s with southerly winds around 15 to 20 miles per hour. Tonight we will see scattered showers and maybe a thundershower. Lows will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Thursday will be cloudy and turning much colder. Highs will be in the morning hours but temperatures will drop through the 40s with blustery north winds 15 to 20 miles per hour.
Thursday night into Friday rain and will move across the area. Rain will mix with freezing rain and sleet at time mainly across our northern counties. Because of this a winter storm watch is in effect for Hopkins Hunt and Delta counties. Temperatures will remain in the lower to middle 30s north and middle to upper 30s south all day Friday. Saturday looks cloudy and cold with rain and sleet developing late. Lows will be in the upper 20a and lower 30s with highs in the middle to upper 30s. Saturday night into Sunday morning there is a chance of a possible winter storm affecting much of the area, especially form Tyler and Longview north. A significant snowfall is likely to our north over the weekend and with northerly winds moving over that snow pack temperatures will remain well below normal through at least Tuesday of next week. Stay tuned for the latest developments.
