LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The Longview Greggton Rotary Club presents the 29th annual Longview PRCA Rodeo April 12th and 13th at 7:30 p.m. at the Longview Rodeo Arena.
Gates open each night at 5:45 according to Ray Wright, this year’s rodeo chairman.
Admission is $12 in advance and $15 at gate for adults and $5 in advance and $5 at gate for children, but children aged 3 through 12 get in free with three cans of food for to be donated to the Hiway 80 Rescue Mission. Reserved tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at gate.
The Longview Rodeo will feature bull riding, bronco riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, team roping and professional Rodeo Clown and Bull Fighter, Matt Tarr.
Children’s activities include Stick Horse Racing. Children will race in three age divisions, with sign-up for the contest each day of the rodeo, from the time the gates open at 5:45 p.m. to about 6:30 p.m.
The races will start about 6:45 and be done by about 7:10, so the arena can be prepared for the rodeo.
Other children’s activities include a Boot Scramble for kids ages 9 through 13 and Mutton’ Bustin.

A petting zoo and pony rides are part of the entertainment for children.
Friday night is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink”.
Proceeds from this year’s rodeo will go to the Crisman School, East Texas Literacy Council, Friends of Partners in Prevention and the Longview Arboretum and Nature Center.
