EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Trinity Valley won the Region XIV conference and now are in Hutchinson, Kansas, to begin their journey towards winning a national championship.
Battle tested in their rugged conference, coach Guy Furr says his team, having shaken off a three game losing streak, has what it takes to go all the way.
“We do have what it takes. You know you can measure size but you can’t measure heart. I think these guys are really focused. They want to represent our community with class and they do play hard. We got a couple of kids we feel like are are high major players.
We got some excellent guys you know that blend in with them. I’m really excited. Two of our better players actually came here as walk on‘s. They earned a way into the lineup. Gary Lions from Athens, Texas. Slim our kid, our sharpshooter from Dallas. And I can say they bring us toughness and a grit that sometimes you know scholarship guys kind of lose along the way,” said Coach Furr.
