Harrison County Sheriff’s Office: Man wanted on federal warrant crashed vehicle after chase

HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Harrison County deputies arrested a man wanted on a federal warrant after he allegedly led law enforcement on a chase, and he wrecked his car on Interstate 20 Saturday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, the car chase started at about 12 p.m. on Redmond Road. The suspect was allegedly fleeing from what was later called in as a disturbance on Redmond Road.

The pursuit ended when the suspect, who was later identified as Troy Randall Owen Jr., crashed his vehicle on the eastbound side of I-20 near mile marker 596., the press release stated.

Owen, 38, of Longview, was later found to have a warrant issued by the United States Marshals Service. In addition, local charges including evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon were filed against Owen.

Owen was booked into the Harrison County Jail, and he is now awaiting arraignment.
