Longview Rotary Club honors Coach John King and the Lobos

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The Longview Lobos state championship football team and their coach were honored on Tuesday.

The Rotary Club of Longview honored Head Football Coach John King and his Lobos today. King and the team received plaques of recognition because the President of the Rotary Club wanted to show the pride and esteem the city of Longview has for the team.

“We wanted to make sure that one of the oldest service clubs in our community did not fail to acknowledge their accomplishments and the community pride that they brought to our city. It’s just astounding and we’re so excited and happy for them.”

The Longview Lobos won the Class A Division II state championship in December. Beating Beaumont West Brook 35 to 34, capping off a perfect 16-0 season.
