LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The search for a man who mysteriously disappeared in one East Texas city continues.
Longview police say 60-year old Donald Eugene James of Longview vanished on January 3 and has not been seen since.
A security image shows James leaving the Walgreens store on highway 80 on January 2, the last time he was seen.
“He’s not technically a missing person by the definition of law, but he is somebody we have concerns about because of his medical condition,” says Longview police Lieutenant Shane McCarter.
Though not specific about what his medical issue is, police say it's serious enough to warrant finding him to ensure his safety.
"Detectives have gone out and visited with the last person that saw him. Because of some of the medical issues he had, we just want to check on his welfare," McCarter says.
At 5'-6" tall and weighing around 130 pounds, James was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
Police say he was possibly headed to the bus stop at Magrill Plaza on First Street.
A check of local missions found no one matching James description showing up.
Police are concerned James may have decided on his own to disappear.
"An individual can just leave the location they're at, and that's something that they have the right and choice to do. But because it's been the length of time it's been, we'd like to visit with him and get him the help that he needs," Shane says.
Longview police do not believe there is any foul play in James disappearance.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to give them a call.
