FRISCO, TX (KTRE) - With a Wild Card round victory behind them, the Dallas Cowboys now switch their focus to the Los Angeles Rams.
It will be the first time this season that the 11-6 Cowboys have played the 13-3 Rams this season. Look for this game to be one won on the running game with the two top running performers, Ezikiel Elliot and Todd Gurley, leading their teams.
The game will also feature two of the young crop of succesfull quarterbacks in the league with Dak Prescott going up against Jared Goff.
Several defensive members of the Cowboys spoke Monday about the challenge that Goff and Gurley present with one of the top offenses teams in the league.
“It doesn’t matter how we handled it or whatever,” defensive end Tyrone Crawford said. “The point is we’ve got to get going this week and we’ve got to get after it. They’ve got skill guys, they’ve got guys that can make plays. They’ve got a good offensive line, good quarterback, good running back. They run the ball well. We’ve just got to do what we do – go out there, try to stop the run and try to make the team one-dimensional.”
The defense had a great performance in the Wild Card round, holding Seattle to just 299 yards and 22 points.
“You’re talking to a defensive player, I definitely think you can win with defense,” Crawford said. “We’re going to run and hit. That’s what we’re bred to do in this defense, so we’ve just got to go out there and do it.”
