Police chase ends with crash-out on Hwy 149 in Gregg County, suspect arrested

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A police chase through two East Texas counties ended with an arrest on Sunday morning in Gregg County.

The person who allegedly fled law enforcement was eventually caught around 9 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of State Highway 149 and Williams Road, just south of Lakeport near the Knox Lee Power Plant.

The scene was the end result of a chase that wound it’s way through Gregg and Rusk counties.

The incident was reportedly sparked by officers spotting the vehicle which was suspected stolen in the Longview area.

By the time the suspect crashed out in a ditch on Williams Road, there was a small convoy of law enforcement chasing him.

Officers from Gregg County and Lakeport units assisted in ending the chase. The suspect has not been identified, neither has the reason why he was fleeing from law enforcement.
