TJC head football coach retires from coaching position, to become ambassador for athletics department

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The head football coach at Texas Junior College announced he would be retiring from his coaching position.

Danny Palmer announced at a press conference, Tuesday that his 12 year career as the Apaches head coach has come to an end.

Palmer says he’ll serve as a liaison for the Apaches in the athletic department by becoming an ambassador for the college’s athletics departments and for TJC itself.

Tim Drain, a longtime school administrator said “Palmer has been asset for the Apaches, and the fact that he’ll be still be around in a new capacity already says the athletics program has already improved.”
