Jeff Austin III was honored with a luncheon in Tyler on Tuesday.

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The East Texas Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America awarded Jeff Austin III with the 2018 Distinguished Citizen Good Turn Award. Austin was honored with a luncheon on Tuesday at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.

Jeff Austin III is a testament to those values.  As a public servant, community investor, businessman, Scout leader and father, Mr. Austin is the type of leader that Scouting seeks to develop.
East Texas Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America

Austin is a commissioner of the Texas Department of Transportation, Vice Chairman of Austin Bank NA, a board member and past chairman of the Texas Bankers Association, an executive committee member and past director of the Texas Lyceum and a former scoutmaster and board president for the East Texas Area Council, Boy Scouts. Mr. Austin’s grandfather, Jeff Austin Sr., was the third recipient of the award which dates back to 1992.

The East Texas Area Council serves about 7,000 scouts throughout 17 East Texas counties with more than 2,500 volunteers.
