PANOLA COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Strong storms over the weekend left behind some damage in East Texas.

A tornado caused a garage roof to fly off into a residential yard, this weekend in Panola County.

The National Weather Service classified the tornado as an EF0.

Despite the 86 mile per hour winds, the resident we talked to didn’t realize the damage being done.

“Oh my goodness!! I had no idea that happened,” said Jill Young. “I didn’t really hear the roof come off. It didn’t seem super scary or “tornadoie." Just a little whistling sound.”

Her house is on C.R. 235 a few miles from Beckville, TX in Panola County. Her husband was patching up a bit Monday, but the couple plans to have it professionally repaired. There were several downed trees in her yard. It all happened around 5:20 pm on Saturday. No other part of her house was damaged.

“My husband thinks since there are no doors on the garage, the wind may have come up from under and lifted the roof off," Young said.

Jill tells us the roof can be fixed and that she is just glad no one was hurt.
