Panola County (KLTV) -
An EF 0 tornado has been confirmed to have touched down in Panola County by the National Weather Service Office in Shreveport. This confirmed tornado was from just one of the several tornado-warned storms that moved through East Texas yesterday afternoon. The damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service reported a touchdown seven miles southwest of Beckville and traveled for 1.3 miles heading northeast before it lifted back off the ground.
The tornado touched down along FM 1251, breaking large branches there and moved northeast where it crossed CR 237. It uprooted a few trees and broke large branches before moving to the east-northeast where it crossed CR 241. The tornado did the most damage in this area where it uprooted several and snapped several large branches. The tornado continued northeast, snapping more large branches along an unnamed mining road before it lifted back up into the storm.
Peak wind gusts from this tornado were estimated to reach 85 miles per hour, which places it as a higher end EF 0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale.
