TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Hurricane Michael left the Florida panhandle devastated as it moved ashore in early October.
Communities were left in shambles as the storms powerful winds and massive storm surge impacted the region.
Residents of 13 Florida counties along the Panhandle and coast were issued mandatory evacuation orders ahead of the storm and 34 shelters were opened.
Search and rescue operations continue along the coastline, the Associated Press reports. In Mexico Beach, Florida, 16 people were pulled from rubble, CNN reported. More than 1 million were left without power.
