MARSHALL TX (News Release) - The Shoults Family began Bear Creek Smokehouse in October of 1943. In honor of their 75th anniversary, they began construction on a new multi-purpose facility that is a General Store and also a destination Event Center. The facility is located near the existing Bear Creek Smokehouse Processing Plant at 10857 State Hwy 154 Marshall, TX 75670 (just 20 minutes out of Longview and 10 from Marshall).

Using salvaged material from a warehouse built in the late 1800s, the Shoults family and crew managed to bring the material back to life throughout the interior of the store, creating a one of a kind, authentic atmosphere. The General Store and Event Center will feature the entire line of Bear Creek Smokehouse Hickory Smoked Meats and Dry Goods. In addition, Bear Creek has tediously searched across the country for items that are unique so that their customers can purchase gifts for anyone on their list for birthdays, weddings, and even Christmas.

With a 100-foot front porch overlooking the beautiful area known as “Bear Bottom” this new facility is the perfect place for corporate events and holiday parties. They also have a private meeting room for rent. The building is 10,000 square feet and the interior reaches over 40 feet high at its highest point. Bear Creek Smokehouse will open the doors to the new General Store this fall, just in time for the holidays. The Shoults Family will be hosting a Grand Opening Open House party on November 1st from 5 to 8:30 p.m. where they will be there to greet customers and friends. There will be samples of various products along with fresh fudge for purchase.

Hunter Shoults and family have released the following statement: “We are thrilled about this expansion and cannot wait for our customers and friends to come see what we have been working so hard on. This new store exemplifies growth in our company and also added jobs for our community. Being Small Business owners and a multi-generation owned family business, we had to think outside of the box on all the ways we could diversify this space to make sense for our business and our family. Creating a space that allows us to showcase and sell our products but also host events and highlight our Catering Department seemed to be a good fit for us. We have built this new store in honor of my grandfather, Bobby Shoults. We hope that our visitors can get to know him through pictures and anecdotes that can be found throughout the store.”
