TYLER, TX (KLTV) - One of the longest running festivals in the state is returning in October.
Over 100,000 people attend the festival in Gilmer every year, and this year is expected to be no different.
There are several events scheduled. The events range from pageants, gospel singing, and even barn dancing!
The events include:
Wednesday October 17th:
10:30am - Museum Opens - display of Queens Gowns (daily Wed. - Saturday)
6pm-midnight - Carnival opens - HALF price rides all night
7:30pm - Queens Coronation
Thursday October 18th:
10:00am - Ribbon Cutting at Yamboree Band Stand - Official opening of the Yamboree
Noon-midnight - Carnival
Noon-6pm - Inside and Outside Exhibits, crafts, etc. at the Yamboree Grounds
7:30pm - Queen's Coronation
8:30pm - Street Dance at Bandstand
Friday October 19th:
9:00am-6pm - Outside Exhibits, crafts, boutiques etc
9:00am - Bandstand opens with live music playing throughout the day
10:00am-6pm - Inside Exhibits
11:00am - SCHOOL parade
Noon - Area Bands perform on the Bandstand
Noon-midnight - Carnival
4:00pm - Gospel Stage Opens
8:30pm - Street Dance at the Bandstand
Saturday October 20th:
8:00-10:00am - Antique/Classic Car Show (West Cast Street)
9:00am-6pm - Outside Exhibits, crafts, boutiques etc
9:00am - Bandstand opens
10:00am-6pm - Inside Exhibits
11:00am - QUEEN'S Parade
11:00am-2:00pm - Barbecue lunch at Yamboree Grounds
Noon - Gospel Stage Opens
Noon-midnight - Carnival
1:00pm - Fiddlers Contest
Marching Contest
2:00pm - Livestock Sale
8:00pm - Barn Dance Wade Bowen
8:30pm - Street Dance at Bandstand
